In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and salt.
Add the sliced bread to the mixture, making sure that each piece is covered and soaked.
Allow to sit for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, melt butter and oil together in grill pan or skillet.
When pan is hot, and melted butter and oil has coated the surface, add sliced bread to pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Serve and eat immediately.
