Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Serves: 3 Dozen Cookies
Ingredients
  • ¾ cup vegetable shortening
  • 1¼ cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Mix shortening, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  4. Gradually add into shortening mixture at low speed until smooth.
  5. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
  6. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets.
  7. Bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  8. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to wire rack to cool.
